Seasonal Utilities Maintenance Assistant

  The City of Watertown is recruiting a reliable, independent, and responsible individual(s) to perform summer seasonal maintenance work in the Utilities Department.  Under the general supervision of the Utilities Superintendent, this position assists with outdoor and semi-skilled maintenance in the utilities systems of the City. This includes the daily testing of utility systems, meter reding at water and waste/water facilities, flushing of water mains, jetting of sewers, cleaning storm sewers and ponds, routine maintenance on the grounds, buildings, and equipment, and other duties as assigned. 

Candidates must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and have experience with hand tools, power tools, and power equipment. Work will be performed around large industrial equipment such as pumps, blowers, and heavy equipment Must have a valid Class D driver's license. Preference for Class B driver's license. Some technical training in the water/waste water field preferred.

Hours are 6:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Thursday and 6:30am to 10:30am on Friday. Availability for late night, weekend, and extended call-outs due emergency events required.
