White Street and State Street. The proposed improvements will include the addition of turn lanes, curb and gutter, storm sewer and a trail on the
east side of the road. The project limits also include the west end of Territorial Street and a portion of Jefferson Avenue north of State Street. The
project has been bid and awarded to W.M. Mueller and Sons. The road construction is proposed to start the week of May 10th and be completed sometime in
July. Xcel Energy will be starting prior to the actual road construction starting to relocate electric and gas lines as a result of the project.
Although the official detour for the project takes Highway 25 traffic around the City, there will also be a local detour which consists of
the following streets:
- Madison Street from Highway 25 to Angel Avenue
- Angel Avenue from Madison Street to Bickford Street
- State Street from Highway 25 to Angel Avenue
- Bickford Street from Highway 25 to Angel Avenue

COUNTY ROAD 20 ROAD PROJECT

County Road 20

County Road 20 (CSAH 20) will be reconstructed beginning in June 2010. The project includes the complete reconstruction of the roadway, addition
of concrete curb, medians, shoulders, trails, and storm sewer. In addition, roundabouts will be constructed at the intersections of Paul Avenue/CSAH 20 and CSAH
10/CSAH 20 (often referred to as the ‘Y’ intersection). The project limits are from the intersection of CSAH 10/CSAH 20 to approximately 500 feet east
of Paul Avenue.
The project is scheduled to be substantially complete in October of 2010. Carver County and the City of Watertown understand the inconvenience associated
with the project and have worked to minimize the disturbances associated with the project. During construction, CSAH 20 and CSAH 10 will be closed certain periods
to accommodate the construction requirements of the project. To minimize the duration of the closures and to improve circulation of traffic during construction,
the project will be constructed in multiple stages.
