The City of Watertown works to create parks at a neighborhood scale through the entire community as a way to provide
amenities to the residents of the City. Sec 52-166 (Parks) in the City of Watertown ordinances states that all subdivisions must dedicate
land for parks, playgrounds, public open spaces and trails as a prerequisite to having the development approved. For the full
city code on parks and residential developments, please see the
City's online code.
The Parks Commission and City Council approved a park plan for Kings Highland Park in June 2007.
Riverpointe Park - Fishing Blocks
The City, along with the DNR, installed fishing blocks along the shore of
Riverpointe Park (South Watertown, east of Highway 25).
The blocks can be used to sit or stand and fish for a great catch! The installation of the blocks is part of an effort to
conduct programs like Fishing in the Neighborhood sponsored by the DNR, creating excellent educational fishing opportunities
for youth.
Opening of Kings Highland Park
The equipment called EVOS is a new product designed and supplied by Landscape Structures in Delano.
Employees at Landscape Structures installed the playground the week of July 30th.
