2018 Mill & Overlay Project Open House

This year the City has approved work on area streets as part of the 2018 Mill & Overlay project. During this maintenance effort spot repair of curb and and gutter will occur in areas that have settled, heaved, deteriorated to the point of needing repair. This work in completed in advance of pavement work that will consist of milling of the pavement surface and then applying a new pavement surface. The area of this years project (streets highlighted in red on map) will include streets in the Whitetail Run neighborhood including Deerfield Road, Quail Parkway, Quail Court, and Woodhill Circle. A segment of Madison Street SE and Brown Circle will also be part of the project area.

This important maintenance activity attempts to return the roadway and drainage as close to original built condition as possible. Improving drainage and new pavement surface extends the life of the roadway and sub-base by allowing water to move from the pavement surface efficiently. Temporary access to affected driveways may occur where concrete is repaired and no parking will occur during short periods adjacent to replaced concrete curb repair areas and during milling and paving operations.

This work is scheduled to commence on May 9th. An open house will be held on Wednesday, May 2nd from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at City Hall to learn about the project and impacts.
