The City of Watertown receives its police service from the Carver County Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff Department's primary
concern is the safety and well-being of all persons and property in Carver County. Responsibilities include: executing court-issued civil and
criminal process; providing patrol and investigative functions; providing a secure, healthy detention facility; providing professional training
for personnel; maintaining an accurate record-keeping system; and providing a 911 Emergency Communications Center.

Public Safety Updates
City of Watertown – Recent Thefts from Vehicles Updated 8/25/10
Last week (and a few days previous), there were a number of thefts from vehicles (and one yard). In most
cases the victims state they had locked their vehicles prior to the thefts. The following table represents a listing of those incidents. It should be noted the purse taken
was discarded by the thieves and later recovered with cash missing.
The City of Watertown is offering a $500 REWARD for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the thief/thieves. Crimestoppers is also
offering a reward for information on these recent crimes (more info is available at: http://www.crimestoppersmn.org/crimeoftheweek.aspx).
